    ABOUT ARTWORK

This work is an excellent example of the artist’s technique - wooden board painted with hundreds of small dashes which the artist then cuts away, gouging out small flecks to reveal the woodgrain beneath. The result is a beautifully textural undulating wave, evocative of an animal hide or a lichened tree. The natural wood gives the piece a real warmth whilst the patination draws the eye around the work.
