Collioure by Dasha

Dariarté founder Dasha is a self-taught artist. After a successful 15-year career in corporate business, she followed her dreams and embraced her passion for art. She took an art course at Central Saint Martins and recently earned an MA in Art Business. Dasha works in London and produces a limited number of works, painting only that which truly inspires her.

Using a palette knife to generously apply paint to canvas, there is a sculptural quality to the artist’s work that invites the viewer to fall into the depth of colour Dasha achieves.

Collioure is named after the small town on the coast of southern France where the work was painted in situ and like many artists before her, Dasha was inspired by the beauty of the place. Using her palette knife method, the artist worked with oil paint whilst each layer was still wet, capturing the multi-hued Mediterranean Sea as it reflects the sunlight.
